Cleveland State is at Detroit, and Wright State hosts Youngstown State........could be significant games if Detroit and YSU could figure a way to win....

There is also UIC at Butler tonight. I know that might not look to have significance, but this isn't a conference to overlook an opponent any night, as we've seen. UIC might have a losing record, but they aren't like a Centenary or N.J.I.T./Utah Valley State.

Roughly halfway through the 2nd half in all of tonight's league action, and every game has been a good watch. Great night for some exciting Horizon League basketball.
Detroit, Youngstown State, and Butler currently winning, but all games are close. Expect a good finish or two.

I'd be stunned if Valpo went undefeated the rest of the way. But I also believe 4-5 losses wins the conference. You know me, I'm hoping for 5, but I think 4 will win it. I strongly doubt Valpo goes undefeated, but this game is just as important because it gives you guys the wiggle room to lose.

Cleveland State fans are completely delusional. After every game they do nothing but complain about the officiating. When are the going to realize that they are actually getting a break from the officials? Just because you get called for more fouls doesn't mean you are getting jobbed. Cleveland State gets called for more fouls because all they do is foul.

I'd be stunned if Valpo went undefeated the rest of the way. Why would you be "stunned?" We already beat WSU, Detroit, LOC and UIC on the road. Should anyone be even surprised, let alone stunned if we also beat the same teams at home? We beat Milw at home by 17, would you honestly be stunned if we beat you at your place? I'm not saying we will, but would anyone consider it even a mild upset if we did? GB barely beat us at home when Brandon, Jay and Matt were all out. Now that we have everyone back, would you actually be stunned if we beat them at their place? So I ask again, what would be "stunning" about going 6-0 with 4 of the 6 at home and none of the opponents named Butler or Cleveland State?

Detroit takes out Cleveland State....we have a one game lead in the loss column,,,,,but Detroit is next and they have won 3 in a row....nobody said it had to be easy Very true, rlh! The latest "biggest week of the season" is now upon us! Correct me if I'm wrong (hopefully I'm not), Valpo (9-3) is now tied w/ both Cleveland State and Wright State (10-4) for 1st place. If we want to play the tiebreaker game, the Crusaders are currently ahead due to a better head-to-head record versus the Raiders and a common opponent tiebreaker over Cleveland State (Butler). That clearly puts VU in prime position to win the title and host the tournament if they finish the regular season well. Next up is Detroit followed by Wright State. Both are winners of three straight, and for the most part, they've had a lot of close games w/ Valpo over the past few years. The Crusaders swept the road swing against them relatively easily in January, and they are the favorites in my mind, but all bets are off in Horizon League play. More exciting Crusader basketball comes to the ARC. Hope to see you there!

"After every game, they do nothing but complain about the officiating."
The manner in which the players on a Little League team comport themselves will tell you everything you need to know about the personality of their coach.
The manner in which Cleveland State fans act toward the officials is a direct reflection of the comportment of their coach.

When I was watching the Valpo @ CSU game last week, I kept debating about who I disliked more, Gary Waters or Ron Hunter. I chose Gary Waters, and anybody that has every watched an IUPUI game knows that is really saying something . . .

Detroit played CSU tonight and Valpo didn't play. Valpo is playing at home. The advantage Detroit has is that it won 3 games in a row....but those wins were over UIC, Loyola and CSU (all at home). Wright State beat Youngstown State by 4, 74-70. YSU sure does lose a lot of close games.

Fair disclosure: Ron Hunter is a former assistant coach at Milwaukee.
But at least Hunter will take his shoes off for a good cause. Ask Gary Waters to take his shoes off, even for a worthy charity, and you'll surely be rebuffed.
Maybe he has a bit of a foot odor problem?
