OK....a team that wins it's league, but doesn't win it's tournament is supposed to be invited to the NIT as I understand it....so, since we have three champions, what happens if only one is invited to the NCAA....or if none of the three would win the tournament....who gets invited to the NIT? Anyone know how that works?

Anyone know how that works? Only the team that gets the #1 seed in the conference tournament. Milwaukee is the only team that has an automatic bid to the NIT. That being said, it doesn't really matter because all three of them will undoubtedly get an NIT bid if they don't win the HL tourney.

We'd be in automatically, but Butler and CSU would definitely get in.

I looked it up on the NIT website, and apparently that's not the way it works. In case of a tie, the team that goes furthest in the conference tournament goes to the NIT. Therefore, if Milwaukee or Butler are beaten and Cleveland State would advance to the championship game, even if they lost they would go to the NIT. If that happens and Cleveland State would win the tournament, then Milwaukee would get the NIT bit because they were the #1 seed. Here is what happened last year: "Jacksonville split the Atlantic Sun regular season title with Campbell, Lipscomb and Belmont, but the conference tournament was won by fifth-seeded East Tennessee State. The Dolphins earned the automatic NIT bid by advancing the furthest of the four in the Atlantic Sun tournament even though Lipscomb was the #1 seed in the tournament". I just thought this was interesting.
