Peggy Noonan on the Bush administration's way of responding (non-responding) to Chavez(and in general): All bold mine.

Oh good, Ann Coulter. Now I know you're just digging for a response. If you'd really like to have a debate on politics I would argue that it's necessary to move away from Coulter's (and others') propensity to lump the party's into tight boxes. Sure it's much easier to spew angry vitriol when you can group everyone into stereotypes, but you need look no further than today's House and Senate races to see that the parties are fielding many candidates who don't fit these molds. Though to be honest, if you really like Coulter and that style of debate or political conversation, there's really no point in even talking, of course.

Valpotentate, I believe you have correctly noted Rick's unwillingness to engage in real debate. What he wants is to express his considerable anger with the world; an anger so profound that only certainty can alleviate the pain, even if the certainty is just an illusion. He's entrenched himself in his partisanship and orthodoxy so wholly that he can post one opinion after another without need for replies and he can feel so confident in his righteousness as to be gleeful of a man's death sentence.

Oh yes. I am sooooo angry. LOL! Sounds a little like projection there coming from the left coast. And there is nothing sweeter than the justice meted out to evil dictators who murder innocent people. We should all rejoice gladly when that happens. There is no greater good than to protect innocent life, wherever in the world that can be done. The killing of innocent life, like the terrorists do systematically, deliberately, and savagely every day, and the abortionists do to millions of innocent babies is the most grave evil committed and we should jump for joy when we can kill terrorists through our military or bring to justice the perpetrators of such evil. What points of debate have you brought to any of the issues I have raised through posting of articles? None because you folks on the left don't have any ideas. You just criticize conservatives for their views as you pretend to be a psychoanalyst. You offer nothing except ad hominem attacks, just like the rest of the those folks on the left coast. You can always tell a bleeding heart liberal is the one who has misplaced compassion on the criminals. They have never had a member of their own family viciously raped, murdered, or lamed. It's always refreshing to listen to a former liberal become a conservative just after some criminal who killed a loved one of theirs gets no jail time because some bleeding heart liberal judge tried to legislate from the bench and blamed society for the acts of the criminal. Personal responsibility is foreign to them. Liberalism is the most gutless choice one can make. There is nothing but hate coming from the left. Sad but true.

It's amazing, Rick, how when Libs don't have an argument in response to a solid argument, they do nothing but paint Conservatives as simple and unable to debate on a level that would meet their elitist standards. In other words, the ideology that claims to be "for the common man" has nothing but contempt for the "common man."
