I just heard through the grapevine that there is a previous poster out there who has decided not to post on this forum because I post on it. That is the most egotistical, condescending remark I have ever heard and about the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Oh please come back. Please stoop down from your mountain top and enlighten the unwashed masses. Don't deprive all these good people from your anointed, omniscient, and gifted viewpoints. We are not worthy. We are not worthy. And while you are at it, get over yourself and take the stick out of your backside. LOL! Sheesh! I thought I had heard it all.

Internet message boards can be very hurtful. Now if you two would go back to awkward emoticons and inappropriate animal positing, you'll both feel better.

And you say I'm too sensitive..... Yes you are very sensitive sometimes. But.......only about your lips. You complain too much about hard and passionate kisses.

Come on, Rick. You didn't mention the poster's "handle." You've got me thinking. Geez, I still post despite your overwhelming presence.

And you say I'm too sensitive..... Didn't you pull the exact same "if Rick's still here I'm leaving" routine just a few months ago on the old board?

Since when is posting on a message board 24 hours a day considered aerobic activity?

Are you still running marathons? I need some motivation to start running again. I used to run 7min/mile 10k's when I was in my mid-thirties. Now I can't run to the bathroom without passing out before I get down the hall.
I need to bet someone. Chef didn't want to take my offer to play one-on-one basketball for a $1,000 donation to Valpo basketball. If I could get within 5% of your weight, I'd make you the same bet. But you are just a youngster. I wouldn't want to take advantage of your youth and inexperience. How about we go 50/50 with the donation? Half to OE and half to VU. Loser pays.

Yes, Rick, I'm still planning to run the Chicago Marathon this year. I've done 7 in a row (and two others), and want to keep my streak up to 10. And it's with the OE team, and I'm sure you're somewhat familiar with that.
They do have a team that prepares for the Popcorn Panic each year, which might be a good goal. They have courses mapped out, water on the course, and groups to run with. That helps me as far as motivation, because when I know I'm going to be meeting people, it helps get me out of bed, into my running clothes and out the door.
I'm not sure how to calculate the weight thing. Lets just say I was at 170. Within 5 percent of that is 178.5. You think you could do that?

I just joined Cardinal Fitness and suffer greatly on the treadmill. I'd have to lose about 30% of my muscle, um, blubber. That would be tough. What time do you guys run? And how is it that a fat ass like me could keep up with anybody? The whole group would be done an hour before I made it back. Talk to people while running? I couldn't do that right now walking. My schedule for getting Ryan ready keeps me from early morning activities but it might be workable. How about the bet if I can get down to 187?

The training for the Popcorn Panic team is at night, I think at 6 p.m. two nights per week and then at 8 a.m. on Saturdays. They start, I believe in early June.
The OE folks like to call it the "Rookie Runners" team. There are many others in your situation (I'm being nice here), and you would be able to keep up with them. There will be people that you beat. There are a lot of success stories from that program, people who have lost a lot of weight and then moved up to the marathon or the half marathon the next year.
If you got down to 187, I'd take you and Ryan to BuffaLouies to order whatever you wanted - after you ran the Panic.

It sounds like a great idea if only the time was better. I'll just have to continue at CF. Getting to 187 before the Panic run would be tough for me. But if I do and if I run it this year, I'll take you up on the eats. ;D (Don't hold your breath or start saving money for my meal) What per mile pace do you run when you run competitively? Marathon pace and 10k pace?

My best marathon is 3:24, which is a 7:48 pace. My best Popcorn was 32:01, which is a little over 6:20. Those two times were in the same year, I think.
Don't run too many 10ks, but when I do I shoot for 42 minutes. I'm hoping to do the Ringing in Spring 5K in less than 20 minutes on April 1, but I'm not there yet. I'm not speedy, but I do have good endurance. (Yes, I just opened myself up for some jokes there).
