After reading some of the similar comments in the '08 Election thread, I thought I'd break off and mention Glenn Beck's new program. Glenn Beck, from nationally syndicated radio, formerly of CNN Headline News, and now at Fox, is starting a new program called "We Surround Them" or " The 9/12 Project." His hope for the program is that people re-unite as the country did on 9/12/2001. Nothing was political on 9/12, but the country came together and shared many of the same values. With the troubling economy and uncertainty of what politicians and business leaders are doing it is hard to trust anyone. On September 10th, people had their heads in the sand. On September 11th people were afraid or angry. On 9/12, the country united and there was no left or right. "We Surround Them" meant that 15% of the country are on each the extreme left and right, but the 70% in the middle just want to tell each side to shut up and "mean what you say" and "say what you mean." People that are feeling left out truly shouldn't, because there are more of "us" than there are of "them." Politicians should fear us. The intentions of the project are really good and Glenn says people have to unite on values and quit tearing each other down. There was a kickoff for the program last Friday, but it will be interesting how things progress in the coming months. the912project.com
