All eyes are on Indiana & North Carolina today. In fact Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC, was reporting live and as she said:"from Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of the Butler University Bulldogs." Nice plug for Butler. Another MSNBC correspondent said he was in W. Lafayette, but heading for Valpo (not Valparaiso) this afternoon. The hostess said; "enjoy yourself in Valpo." Not bad, huh? Anyway, with Bloomington expected to go for Obama and W. Lafayette for Clinton, where does Valpo stand in the primary - Clinton or Obama? In Nov.this RED state is still expected to go for McCain, but howabout Valpo? Just curious.

The majority of students were Republican in my estimation during my time at Valpo, but that just could have been the people I knew lol.

the vibe i get from the current student body is that it's split more evenly than people realize. about half-ish claim a party affiliation, but let's face it. at our age, most college kids just don't care about politics.

none of them can shoot the three...but Obama passes better Our choir director down here in St. Louis reported recently that her niece, former star center for the Duke Blue Devils, Alison Bailes, got to play some 3 on 3 with Obama. I didn't get to hear much in the way of details, but I got the impression that her niece found the experience very cool

Around 3;30 EDTat the Valparaiso City library,an MSNBC repoter said the voter turnout in IN. was heavy. He particularly mentioned that "many Valparaiso U. students that I interviwed reported that they had voted for Obama." WOW! This isn't the Valpo U. of the 50's as I knew it. GO VALPO!

As far as VU's political leanings, I would have to say that the campus is still majority Republican. The Democrats just seem to be more vocal about it. And according to facebook, more students consider themselves to be conservative than liberal. There are a lot of Obama supporters that I know of though...
