Here are the four coaches being kept on and the possible top new hires for head coach... FootballCoachScoop was the FIRST TO REPORT (October 27) that Head Football Coach Stacy Adams would not be retained. According to our sources now, Athletic Director Mark LaBarbera is very interested in Ted Karras Jr. (Marian College Head Coach), Erik Raeburn (Wabash Head Coach), Kevin Donley (Saint Francis-Fort Wayne Head Coach), Lou Esposito (Saint Joseph's Head Coach) and Steve Englehart (Rose-Hulman Head Coach). We have also been told all four current full-time assistants: Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Sam Bernardi, Special Teams coach Robert Lee and Offensive coaches Chip Taylor and Josh Wissing, will remain on staff until a new head coach is hired. HA!!! This is not a "football coach scoop." This is in The Times article in today's paper. The names are not on "Mark's list." They are names of coaches in the state of Indiana who fit the criteria of being a part of a winning program. That is all.

Thanks for pointing that out 89. Fiction quickly becomes fact on this board. RLH is a perfect example - talking to an "unnamed source" in Athletics, believing everything that was said and posting it in a "Recruiting problems . . ." thread. Using a connection to VU and spreading "inside" information seems somewhat of a conflict of interest to me. Posts such as these hurt all of VU athletics. Please keep those "facts" to yourself until you know for absolute certain that they are facts and not "exaggerated" as admitted they might be. Recruits and their families read this nonsense. Let the AD do his job - hire a new coach, let him recruit and stop micromanaging the process!

It certainly IS posted on www.footballcoachscoop.com. And, The Times DID bring up those names in the article. I would guess those names were discussed, but since we are not privy to the conversation between the AD and The Times, how can one also say it's NOT true? Also, rlh seems to be someone who cares deeply for Valpo football, and was concerned by what he had heard. He had a legit question and I see no problem with that.

Thank you for defending me, but it isn't necessary. It's funny, over the years I've been criticized for not sharing information, and now i get criticized FOR sharing information. i don't make judgement calls, I only report what I know and what I've been told. Obviously I can't reveal who told me within the department, just as Valpo '89 can't reveal his sources. it's the way it is....if you'd rather I not bring these items up for discussion, fine. I thought it was interesting and truthfully, suprising to me. My intent was to bring up an interesting fact about our recruiting efforts, not to diminish anyone or the process.

I know for a fact that RLH's information regarding the recruiting process and how many official visits they are allowed is incorrect. Valpo does have fewer resources and financial capabilities, but his source is not correct in how drastic that is. My source and information is directly from the football department.

The Times did not copy anything from football coach scoop. The names were obtained by simply looking up coaches in Indiana with winning records at the smaller school. And they were not provided by anyone with any association at Valpo U.

Parents of football players received an awesome email from AD Mark LaBarbera today, reinforcing why I love Valpo! I feel really good that the Athletic Department is treating this as a great opportunity for the program.
Go Valpo!
