Not much to say here. I wonder what the over/under is on points scored by San Diego. My guess is at least 70. The Toreros will try and ease off in the second half is my guess.

I'll say this, the score will be closer then 86-7, if only because San Diego is playing at home and they will have more backups available to play than Jacksonville. When you travel you can only take so many players, when you're at home you can dress more.
Here's a question? Will everyone in uniform for San Diego that day get to play?
And no, there's no chance they win.

I think the team will perform better this week, but still a loss. 35-10 San Diego wins it. Maybe it will be 7-7 or 7-3 at the end of the first quarter!

What makes you think Valpo will be able to stop San Diego after only 1 touchdown in the first quarter? Why can this defense that can't tackle or defend the pass stop San Diego from scoring?
Words for the football team from the internet:
Tackling is all about technique and momentum. To make a proper tackle in football, the key is to lunge through the ball carrier while wrapping him up.
Position yourself so that the ball carrier is in front of you.
Before the impact, make sure that your knees are bent and your hips are low. Remember to have your back flat and your head up.
When the ball carrier is within your reach, push off with your feet as hard as you can, and use your legs to drive through the ball carrier's body.
As your shoulder pads connect with him, wrap him up with your arms just under his butt. This allows you to not only knock him over, but to naturally pull his legs out from under him when you extend through him, resulting in a lower chance of your tackle being broken. It also results in some spectacular, highlight-worthy "hits" where you really don't have to hit very hard, just with good technique.
Get your head ACROSS. Put your head across his body and in his path. If the ball carrier is going to your left, when you make the tackle, he should be on the right side of your head. The opposite is true if he's running to your right. This will make him less likely to fall forward for an extra yard or so. This can make a huge difference on second, third and fourth downs.
As you tackle through the ball carrier, lead with your shoulder, not with your head/helmet!!! As this can cause serious injury or death. Remember also to keep your head facing up and your neck "bulled" out.
Keep pushing and driving with your feet until the ball carrier goes down. Pick your knees up high in the driving motion (if you're leaning forward, not standing straight up)
Cause Fumbles. Put your face mask on the football, or if you're tackling from an angle that doesn't allow for this, punch the football out as you go to wrap up, or put your hand on one end of the football and RIP. Forcing fumbles is a great way to get attention from your coaches and from ("real") college teams.
Don't stop until that guy is on the ground and the whistle is blown.
This was written for high school players but it sure couldn't hurt for the Valpo players to review how to tackle.
okay, I added the word "real"

I'm watching the Valpo at San Diego game from free on the Teroros network. No charge. Really for free. Maybe they should pay me.

We'll see if Valpo can hold San Diego from scoring any more in the 1st quarter with 11:23 to go in the quarter. 7-0 San Diego. Did that quarterback have enough time to cook a hard boiled egg? Are the refs trying to help Valpo keep the game closer? It seems like it. EDIT: Sorry, with 4:59 to play in 1st quarter the Toreros kick a field goal and break the 7 point barrier. 10-0 San Diego. 2nd EDIT: Quarter ends with San Diego up 10-0. I give you a lot of credit you were a lot closer in predicting the score of the 1st quarter than I would have been.

The Toreros tacked on a field goal. Has our defense shown up for a game?

The Toreros tacked on a field goal. Has our defense shown up for a game? Honestly I think San Diego just hasn't realized yet how soft the Valpo defense has become. Are the Crusaders mounting their one touchdown drive of the game? EDIT:Nope. Valpo is punting at the 50 yard line with about 2.5 minutes to go in 1st quarter. 2nd EDIT: Maybe, just Maybe. VU stops SD on 4th down at the 37 yard line with about 12 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. Is there something going on in one of the houses up on the hill above the stands? The camera keeps wandering up that way on it's own. Hmmmmmmm.......

Are the Crusaders starting the drive that will change their program forever. Let's believe!
EDIT: Valpo scores to make it 10-7 SD with 2:53 to go in the half. Maybe the defense can respond also. But obviously not special teams. :-(

This camera operator isn't very good. Might be time to tighten the camera to the tripod a little bit more, so it doesn't tilt so freely. Touchdown VALPO!!! 10-7 in the 2nd!! Let's Go VALPO???

Say what you will, but Valpo has looked pretty good the entire second quarter on both sides of the ball!!!

I think the large case of embarrassment finally kicked these guys into the gear they needed to be in? I just hope it isn't a case of San Diego seeing too much of last week's game as us being a team they can take advantage of? I'm honestly happy with how this team has moved the ball, or defended the end zone, but the special teams could use a swift kick. We've given up way too many return yards on punts and kick-off.
