Well, there's only 2 games left this year to break the losing streak currently at 18. Unlikely to happen, but even the sun shines on a dogs....well you get the idea. Still, no real chance for a victory unless Campbell forgets to show up...at home (and I mean literally, not figuratively). An unlikely scenario to be sure. Let's just hope nobody gets hurt, and the score on ESPN isn't too pathetic.

Milan, sorry that the football program embarrasses you so much. Please stop posting garbage. We all know where the team stands right now. Your posts do nothing for the effort that is underway to turn things around. The situation, as it stands now, is not the fault of these players or coaches. It is the result of years of recruiting apathy and lack of direction.
Your frustration is minuscule, I'm sure, compared to what the young men in the program and the coaches are feeling. If you are true "Valpo Fan," please stop expressing your shame. Believe it or not, there is a major effort being put forth to change the culture. Like it or not, it's going to take time. Give this staff a chance! None of of us like to see such lopsided scores, but before we write them off, give their plan some time to work.
Win or lose, this team deserves our support. I for one am behind them and hope that things improve next year. It takes strong individuals to hang tough in the face of adversity. Hopefully, the players and recruits that read these ridiculous posts understand where they come from - people who deep down enjoy it when others fail . . .

To no avail, the slaughtering continues. Nearing the end of the first half, Campbell 35, Valpo 0. The offense hasn't broken the 100 total yard mark yet (86), and Campbell has almost tripled that with 246. Other numbers are relatively even, it just seems like we don't know how to create the big play offensively, or stop the big play defensively.

Well, Valpo held them scoreless in the first quarter - that's something!
Now 49-0 midway through the 3rd.

56-14. Not close and no surprise.

So, you're saying Valpo led 14-7 in the last 25 minutes? Valpo went 239 yards in the air.
OK - so I suppose Cambell had their scrubs in for most of the second half. But it sounds like it could, indeed, have been worse.

I can somewhat understand not scoring a lot of points on the offensive side of the ball. New coach, new system - old players not recuited for this system. I think its easy to see why they will struggle for a season or so until the right type of recruited players start to show up. The defensive side of the ball - Wow! To allow this many points week after week tells me that this team is just not very athletic. We've all seen teams that couldn't defend the pass or teams that couldn't stop the run - but this team takes it to a new level. Tackle the guy with the ball!! I think we all expected this to be a tough season, but this has been a little more than expected. 0-10 with most games being within 2 scores, OK, I can take that. Losing by 6 touchdowns every week - wow.

This sorta makes it look like our defensive players were more dedicated to how much more they could eat, than working to control their appetite for food, so they could increase their appetite for tackling ball carriers. Maybe the defensive coordinator needs to be talking with a registered dietician and the strength and conditioning coach about appropriate foods for the defensive players to be eating, so that they aren't slowed by extra weight.

And I can't remember where the quotes were, but Coach Carlson and the players said that this year they were leaner and faster than they could remember before!

And I can't remember where the quotes were, but Coach Carlson and the players said that this year they were leaner and faster than they could remember before! I never read the original quote, so maybe Coach Carlson "misremembered". Let's hope so since these leaner faster players are giving up 47 points a game. If that's what leaner and faster gets me, bring back fat and slow!

Only one more week Milan, then maybe you can get over your embarassment for a while

Well since we've hit rock bottom, Coach Carlson can claim to have improved the team next year when we are second-to-last. Good improvement!

Dear Milan, okinawatyphoon and other Valpo football naysayers, Do you know how many injured players the team has had this year? Lots. Then, there are those who have "disappeared" from the program partially through the season. Not many schools we are playing have had the share of problems experienced by this squad. That said, I am sick of the constant bashing of the team by "fans" and even some professors at Valpo! Why would anyone want to play football here with this mentality? Yes, the coach hasn't "performed" as well has had been expected, but there are some really good players on that team that do not deserve the abuse they have been getting on campus and from "fans."
