Well, not much to say except, we should win this one by at least 15 points. Hopefully the guys can stay focused and not get trapped with the Cleveland State game coming up like Butler did.
Prediction:
Penguins 68 Crusaders 84

I fully expect you guys to beat us, but since you guys joined the Horizon League, the games have been close, though we have yet to beat you:
Of the six meetings since you guys joined the league, five have been decided by single digits. Last year you guys squeaked by us at the ARC 70-66, while the game in Youngstown was decided by just 2, 77-75.
YSU is nowhere near as bad as that 30 point loss to Loyola the other day. Valpo should win, but it will be a battle.

This is one game I feel pretty good about winning. I don't think it will be a blowout, but I do think the game won't be in doubt either.

Anyone know the status of Van Wijk? Again, I saw him grimacing in the Butler game, and with how effective he was in the first half, I can't believe he wouldn't play at all in the second half unless he were hurt.

"The game can be watched exclusively live online at ESPN3.com" I'd forgotten how ESPN3 games were handled. Somehow I thought they were still live on HLN, if not archived. Do we know how many more of these ESPN3 games we have, or might have? It's at least Wright State next week. From www.horizonleague.org/blog/horizon-league-announces-2010-11-mens-basketball-tv-schedule.htmlit sounds like Milwaukee at Valparaiso on Jan. 21 is another candidate (could be ESPN3 or ESPNU? to be decided... today?). Is that it? I guess the Bracketbuster's another candidate - February 19. Two or three games might be worth a monthly subscription... (24 CHF a month, 15 CHF a day, here at work in Switzerland; I don't recall the French prices at home).

So, can Homer Drew pass Jerry Slochum on the career wins list this year? Might happen... in the HL tournament? Jerry started the season with a 12 game lead.
(That said, can Roy Williams pass Homer this season? Homer's currently got a 3 game edge. )

Folks, this is where the top half of the conference must start separating from the bottom. In order to accomplish our stated goal of five postseason entrants, teams like Valpo must win games just like the one tonight. The ideal would be for Cleveland State, Butler, Valpo, Milwaukee and Detroit (Wright St. has long since established that it won't accept a bid to one of the lesser tournaments, so it does us no good to have them in conference contention) to start stockpiling wins and create a divide between themselves and the rest of the league. Each of the aforementioned five should plan on finishing above the RPI top 130, meaning that the ultra-talented but underachieving Titans (RPI 200) have the most work to do.

Hoping for a good game on the boards and beyond the 3-point line.

To date we have played only 3 home games against D-1 opponents - 10 away. That may be the most imbalanced schedule we've ever had at this point in the season. Fortunately, 9 of our last 15 conference games are at home, plus the Bracket Buster. Hopefully, that should help position us for a strong finish. The line is Valpo -15. Something tells me that's too many. I'm going to guess Good Guys by 8.

Just saw where Kenney will not play again tonight. Well, it's off to the ARC.

Valpo is really lucky the Penguins are missing so many easy shots. They could be in the lead if they were hitting those normally high percentage shots.

TD and IndyValpo might have already discerned this, if they are listening to espn3 right now. Some of the rest of you might get a kick out this:
The play-by-play voice on espn3 is none other than Greg Rakestraw, former radio voice of the IUPUI Jaguars.

Just turned the game on. I forgot that it was at 6. Glad to see we already have 9 TOs.
