Sounds as though Wood maybe another Jay Cutler type. I'm afraid we're a bunch of wimps. Butler by 10. Book it! really? Please don't take him seriously Mr. Wood. He likes to make comments to rile people up without any regard for who they might hurt or if they are appropriate. He certainly doesn't represent the view of anyone else on this board or in the Valpo fan base.

I suppose we should just leave it to the administrators what to do with jj, and not derail the discussion.
I hope Brandon and his family don't take too much offense.
But, for an internet message board, saying that a player is "maybe another Jay Cutler type" and that he's "afraid we're [the team is?] a bunch of wimps", doesn't seem too extreme.
Defamatory, abusive, and hateful seem to strong.
Anyhow, I hope he's back in uniform soon! Hopefully in fighting shape for tomorrow. It was made clear in the Post Tribune article that Brandon takes injury management very seriously, and that the team's doing a lot to fight through their injuries. They hardly sound like a bunch of wimps.

If Brandon and Jay are both out Saturday, I think our chances of winning are very slim. They'll clog the middle with Howard and Smith and force us to hit outside shots like the first game. It took Jay hitting 3 3's to get us back in it then. And that's when we had Brandon and everyone else at full strength. Maybe we'll get lucky and Butler will stink up the place like it seems they are prone to do from time to time. Well, I agree that Kenney can cover the loss of Jay Harris, no problem there. However, Witt can't come anywhere close to replacing Wood, so in the end that's not good. Matt needs to really influence this game for Valpo to win without those two. Let's hope it happens. You forgot that Matt Kenney was still suffering from his concussion during the Jan. 1 game at Butler. Matt will make a huge difference against Butler and many of his friends who missed him at the game at Hinkle will make the drive up I-65 with me and the Butler fans for Saturday's game. You will see a lot from Matt Kenney on Saturday I can guarantee you that. I'm not sure if Kenney & Witt make up for Wood & Harris but it being a home game sure doesn't hurt either. From what I hear it's Mack & Nored's defense that has really let the Bulldogs down. That's why teams like Milw, GB & YSU are scoring many more points then last year against Butler.

BTW, Wood can teach a thing or two to Cutler after that gutty performance. Horizon POY voters, please take notice. Howard is good, but Wood is this year's POY (as of now).

Haha, I love Brandon Wood, but Matt Howard is hands down the HL POY. He's averaging 18 and 8 while shooting 51/46/82 percent. Make "nose" mistake, Matt Howard is the "pick" for HL POY.

The story I've heard is that Cutler did return to the game with his injury, but after 1 series he was removed by the coaching staff. There has been an ocean full of misinformation on that situation. Sorry for the tangent, but just wanted to set the record straight.

Sorry for the tangent, but just wanted to set the record straight. You're right, Stl. Cutler did return for that opening series for the 2nd half, but when the coaching staff saw that he was having difficulty planting or making the lateral movements needed for his position in the plays, they decided he was done.

The entire Jay Cutler issue was blown completely out of proportion. He was left out to dry by his own organization, both during the season with a porus offensive line and their handling of the situation. A comparison of Brandon to Jay Cutler would not in my mind be negetive. That being said, gutsy performance by a player that is showing wonderful growth on the floor. His overall game is solid, love to watch this young man play. His development over the last 14 months is what you would like to see...and to think, we have him one more year. lowposter

This is way off topic, but in my own opinion, Cutler should have played...if you can walk, you can play, if you can touch it you can catch it. Byron Leftwich played on a broken leg, I would think Cutler could have managed to play with a (supposed) grade 2 MCL sprain.
ESPN's Mike Golic had a great point before the injury was reported...of course the Bears orginization is going to say he was severely injured...what other choice do they have...come out and say he could have played?
