Take a look at the Butler board (I haven't yet) and I'll bet they are calling for their super star coaches head!! Oh the fleeting nature of fame in America!!

Apparently YSU acted like they had been there before because the students didn't storm the court. I thought if there was one team who actually deserved to storm the court after beating Butler it was the Penguins. Maybe they just couldn't get their students organized in time or the students were just too shocked to think about storming the court.

Here's some of my favorites: BURph92 wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Funny how last year people were saying we're too good for the Horizon League. Now it appears the Horizon League is too good for us. Maybe we should look into the Summit League. chc3 wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This loss is really not on Nored; it's on Stevens and his inability to recognize how they get a lead and how they lose one... Can anyone get to the coach and talk to him? tom cloverdale wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- had to put him back in. had to lose the game. this team is not well-coached. i will say that as a minimum TheEnforcer13 wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW BAD ARE WE AT DRAWING UP PLAYS OUT OF TIMEOUTS? JESUS Baddog wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hate to put this one on Stevens, but I don't think he substituted quite enough tonight. And removing Nored from the game for maybe 4 to 5 minutes total just killed us. Never, ever take Nored out. He needs to be in the game all 40 minutes. Maybe we'll get some more philosophical reasoning again from Stevens for losing to lowly and depleted Youngstown State.....Like "we just lost our focus." Sounds about right. douluvit wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And I was actually chastised for calling Brad a mediocre coach after the Valpo game? Hmmm, appears it is definitely trending towards that direction, unfortunately. And my most favorite is the guy who posted while Butler was winning chastising the other posters for being poor critics. Ooops! hoops99 wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- you people are ridiculous. go look in the mirror. you are not athletic, you have no knowledge, you have no skill. that's why you sit here posting and ripping "your" school. Many of you are pathetic idiots. If any of these guys were half as good as you expect, then BU would have a National Championship every year. You are clueless. Now that they are winning this game, you will act like they are now listening to you. Do you think the coaching staff just might have a better idea than you about rotations, subs, playing time, etc? Maybe? GET A CLUE. You people used to be knowledgeable sports fans. Now you are just clueless, selfish, bums. When this team does well, do them a favor and don't jump back on the bandwagon. They don't need you.

I'm surprised anyone thinks another Butler loss (to the last place team no less) is worthy of its own thread.

Butler is playing themselves out of a double bye as much as Detroit played themselves out a couple of weeks ago. Right now, we just need to win games. Tonight wasn't our night. We just have to regroup, play our game against Youngstown, and get ready for the rest of the uphill battle to the tourney seeding.

If I hear anyone talk about at-large bid possibilities for Butler after tonight, I'll be moved to question their sanity. I really trust all such talk will die off now.
I'm not happy about that, actually. I agree with Dylan, it's always better to get more than one team into the Dance. But I really think that idea is over. I suppose CSU has a microscopic chance at one, but unless Butler resurrects themselves on Saturday, the HL tournament is going to be at the Wolstein Center, and they're probably going to get the auto-bid. I dunno, maybe Detroit rejuvenates themselves and hangs a loss on them. WSU could also, but they're breathing down our neck right now.
Gary Waters doesn't think Valpo will lose another game the rest of the way, so the pressure's still on.

Gary Waters doesn't think Valpo will lose another game the rest of the way IF that were to happen and IF Butler were to beat CSU tomorrow, we would be the No.1 seed.

Depending on who finishes third; first tie-breaker (assuming you both end 15-3) is head to head, then the second is record against best teams going down. So, it matters very much if Milwaukee or Green Bay or Wright State is in third.

Typically, the seven (7) stages of grief are described as: - Shock or Disbelief - Denial - Anger - Bargaining - Guilt - Depression - Acceptance I'm feeling very badly for Butler fans right now. Here they were on top of world just 2 or 3 months ago. They were successful. The future looked bright. They handled their acclaim with the utmost of humility and grace, because after all that is the Butler Way. Fans from other teams were happy for them. Life was good. Then in an oh-so-cruel twist of fate, inexplicably they began to stumble, and stumble again, and then again. Something was wrong – very wrong. And now we know – the Butler dynasty is dying, and a sad moment it is. My thoughts will be with them as they work their way through the 7 stages.

There's a German word for this, I do believe, but I'm afraid to try to spell it.

Step nine is the apology.
So, Title and Duck, we're waiting.
(Because of their perspective, Zville and Eddie are exempt).
By the way, where's that Rum Raisin!
