Excruciating to watch:
1. Valpa-RYE-so -- I'm sorry, you lose all my respect in 2011 if you can't pronounce this simple word properly (by the way, it's sti-GALL, not STEE-gal, idiots). 2. Called Butler "Baylor" at one point. At least act like you enjoy calling the game. 3. I suddenly see why Butler fans are down on Shelvin Mack. I've seen several possessions where ... I dunno, just something seems ordinary about him all of a sudden.
These announcers are absolute crap -- bottom of the barrel. I guess that's what happens when your standard bearer is crapping the bed this season. Ballin' is a Habit put it well today: "This game would be a lot more intriguing if Butler wasn't, you know, bad this year."

I don't know if its Norris Cole's haircut or perhaps it's their style of play...but I really don't like Cleveland St.

I still have the game on tv, but I love the "mute" button for this very reason. I can still watch the game, but I don't have to listen to disinterested local snobs. I haven't turned on the Butler or CSU radio feeds online, unless ESPN wouldn't allow for that? (They have been known to do that.)

At the half Butler has attempted 10 more shots and has made 5 more field goals than Cleveland State. However, CSU has shot 8 more free throws than Butler, resulting in 6 more points. This is very similar to the CSU/Valpo game. We attempted 20 more shots and hit 3 more baskets than they did. We lost to Cleveland State because in a whistle happy Horizon League, they have learned that repeatedly taking the ball strong to the basket will get you to the free throw line and win you a lot of games. This of course is true in most conferences, but especially in the HL.

I'm guessing Gary Waters will be complaining about the whistles this game. And the free throw line strikes again... the best defense for any team is that line 10 feet away from the rim.

10 point Butler lead with less than 5 minutes to go. I still can't root for the bastards....

Good thing for all of you that Butler isn't as bad as all of you think we are... (that goes for most of the people on our message board as well...)
and I agree... the guy announcing was terrible. Couldn't say names correctly, was slow, and had such a bla presentation of the game. I expect much more out of ESPN.

Glad that Butler got that win, as it helps Valpo get back into the hunt for #1 in the seeding. Now we just have to get the win tonight. I hope Valpo never has to worry about Charlie Neal calling their game, because they'll constantly be Valpa-RYE-so.

You have got to be kidding everyone on this board thinks Butler is better then the know it all's on the Butler board. Haven't heard anyone on here say that Butler is bad.

Painful as it was to have to root for Butler, I'm glad they got the win. What happens if CSU and us both win out? How does the tie breaker work for the two of us?

I hope Valpo never has to worry about Charlie Neal calling their game, because they'll constantly be Valpa-RYE-so. Completely unprofessional presentation. For crying out loud, everytime #33 entered the game for Butler, the PA announcer pronounced his name correctly. Just listen to him. Or for that matter, isn't that the job of the guy or gal speaking to him in his headset to correct him? And once again, WHO CARES ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA? Call the damn game and leave the out-of-town news to the anchor back in Bristol. You don't have to be Gus Johnson. I understand, you're probably last on the ESPN announcer depth-chart, and that's what comes with Butler being 6-5, but at least do your damn job and be professional about it.

The bulldogs helped the crusaders today by beating the vikings. Hopefully Detroit and or Wright State can help us out also over the next few games. Valpo still has some very tough games left but I believe they are still showing consistent signs of improvement and the coaching staff is still learning the teams strenghts and best lineups to use during the games. This has been an exciting season so far and it will continue to be until the end. Hope the guys get healthy and stay healthy. Go Crusaders and congrats on the success so far this season.

I commented on this board that the road game for CSU vs. Detroit Monday could be a big trap game for CSU because the Butler game would distract them whether they won or lost. They will tighten up now and may choke in Detroit. Not sure why the board wiped out my post.
Butler is down but not out by any means. In fact, if CSU finishes #1 with fewer than five losses and Butler loses just 5, they will hold tie-breaker for #2 seed against all others. Valpo needs to hunker down and especiallyy beat Wright St. Thursday to hold down a top two seed.
