I was looking over on the Butler board and some guy over there did an analysis of each team's chances at each seed. It is very important to win the 1 seed because from the looks of it our chances of getting the 2 seed are very slim. If we end up losing out on the 1 seed we have a much better chance of ending up as the 3 seed.

If we end up losing out on the 1 seed we have a much better chance of ending up as the 3 seed. I wouldn't have agreed with that a few days ago, but after Butler beat UIC, I can absolutely believe it, since the only ways we have to settle for a 2 seeds all start with us losing at least one game, and all of those possibilities are dicey. Winning out has been a guaranteed double-bye since at least the Milwaukee loss, but now it's a guaranteed 1 seed.

I look at it this way, if the guys can't come out tonight and beat an inferior team (that already beat them at home) in a virtual must have game, then they don't deserve the 1 seed. I don't see how they could let themselves lose this game.

The one thing tonight that is really important to Green Bay is that it is Ramon Fletcher's last game at home for the Phoenix unless they pull off some real upsets. Senior Night. Fletcher has had a great career at UWGB and his teammates and the fans want him to go out with a win. I see a much closer game than many are predicting. Green Bay plays very well on their home court. www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20110221/GPG020101/102210479/1225/GPG02/Men-s-basketball--Fletcher--UWGB-seniors-saying-goodbye-to-Resch-Center The Phoenix has a 44-13 home mark in the four years that Fletcher and Perine has been at UWGB. At this point, Phoenix (12-16, 6-9) just needs a win to stop a five-game losing streak that has included three losses in the final seconds. But more than that, the Phoenix wants to send off its seniors with one more memorable victory. "It's going to be a very special night knowing that everything Rahmon and Bree have given this program, and Greg as well," Phoenix freshman Daniel Turner said. "So we want to send them off with a win." Valpo wins in last minute 65-64 4th last second loss for Green Bay in last 6 games.

Maybe the Blizzard will keep some of the phoenix-phaithful away from Resch tonight... maybe a nice quiet gym will be a respite for our guys...

Last time I was at the Resch (when VU played there last season) it was an awfully quite gym anyways. Doesn't seem to me like they draw much of a crowd up there on a regular night, let alone a snowy Monday night. It is a beautiful arena, but just too big for a school that only draws 3-4,000 on a good night. Just my opinion.
Go Valpo!

Does anyone know why our name is #-/rv Valparaiso? It's been like that for about a week on everything we print... including the Game notes for the Bbuster game...

Does anyone know why our name is #-/rv Valparaiso? It's been like that for about a week on everything we print... including the Game notes for the Bbuster game... That's our ranking in the two national polls. In the AP poll we have no votes, hence the -, and in the coaches poll we are receiving votes, hence the rv. When we played CSU a couple weeks back we were receiving votes only in the coaches poll and they were receiving votes only in the AP poll so it was #rv/- vs. #-/rv.

No points for Broekhoff, Johnson and Wood after 9 minutes. Jay Harris with 2 uncontested turnovers in about 3 minutes of play. Hard to understand.

Brown is killing us again. If Brandon doesn't get his offensive game going Valpo might have to settle for 3rd in the tourney which will be played in Cleveland.

I'd like to replace the #-/rv with a few other _)(*_!@#$+!! keys from the keyboard...perhaps a rebound would help... and here's your 7:53 team timeout...
