he games not even over (time wise) and I had to turn it off. The worst effort by a Valpo team I have ever seen. No effort, no spirit, just nothing.
We had our chance and completely blew it. Pathetic.
And this from a half full guy. The glass broke tonight. It is over. That really hurts to say because I love this team. Call it fatique, flu or whatever, but if this team that showed up tonight had shown up for Dickie V, we would have been the lauhing stock of the country because we would have lost by 50.
Turn out the lights folks.

The lowest we can get is 4th. This game just showed so little concentration by our guys, so many dumb TO's with no one around, and 4 missed bunnies. It's almost like we didn't care that we could salvage a double bye, when the players/coaches knew what was going on at CSU from the sounds of it.

NOW, who thinks we will win another game this season? I didn't think so after we lost to Green Bay, and now I'm pretty sure. Pretty terrible effort tonight.

Now the big question is, did we just play ourselves out of a possible NIT bid, into one of the even lesser tournaments??

Hard to figure. We not only lose but by 20 points. Valpo with everything to play for and playing against a Loyola team that has struggled this year. Even though we are not playing up to our capability, I give Loyola credit for coming in and playing hard. I guess we are in some sort of slump or whatever you want to call it? Or other teams have figured out how to play us better as the season has progressed. Sure miss having a true big guy in the post so Cory isn't always forced to play out of position and against sometimes much larger bodies. I know I don't see how different players practice, or know about any injuries, etc. I just wonder sometimes if our "bigs" other than Kevin (i.e. guys like Witt or Vujic) could somehow get a little time so Cory could be a 4 some of the game and not a 5. Gotta "bring it" every game, as Homer says there are no easy games to win in this conference. Apparently tonite was not our night. From shooting lights out vs. Missouri State to struggling badly tonite, especially shooting threes.

I have no doubt they are a bunch of nice kids, but when this team has something to play for, they gag. Sad.

Part of my thing has always been that the season isn't over until there are no more games to play, but I do understand what people mean when they say it's over, and after tonight, I don't blame you for feeling that way. I can't join you, but I'm not going to fight you too hard.
I also feel for Bryce and think he's probably in the same position as most coaches, but having said that, I thought the excuse-making in the postgame just didn't work this time. I'm sympathetic -- if I was in his shoes I'd be in shock and groping for some way to rationalize what just happened. I'm not angry with him; I'm just saying it didn't work for me this time, hearing about the unfair schedule, etc. Good teams prepare for that.
I also think it is *extremely* hard for anyone to sweep anyone in this conference, and Loyola traditionally punishes teams that take them for granted.
Anybody think maybe they practiced *too* hard yesterday and the day before?
At any rate, I don't blame you for feeling the season is over. I won't join you, but I can't blame you either.

Did not see the game...I am sure the effort was bad. But another reason why you need a Big Man (and Mascot) to have better consistency on both sides of the court. We have not been able to land one - we are all guards just like the rest of the Horizon League.

We have not been able to land one - we are all guards just like the rest of the Horizon League. Except for the 7 foot freshman center at Green Bay who just killed us. He's from Minnesota isn't he? Did we even recruit him? Why can't we find one? Other Horizon League teams seem to find them.
