Wow! Where's that? How long's it been there?
It says northeast? So it's somewhere by the power station?

Actually between the power station and Alumni, across the road from Brandt. The bricks you see on the far left of the photo do, in fact, belong to the power station.
It was built within the last couple years (2006 maybe?)...was quite a pain in the rear when that area had no parking, as opposed to the lot that used to be there....

This looks like a great improvement, compared to the lot that was next to Alumni. I'm sure it is better for those upperclassmen who live in Berg also. It gives them more parking than the small lot that was in front of the building, plus having the lot by Alumni to use.

Another view of the garage, putting it in perspective. The residence hall you can see is Alumni Hall, and the garage is to the left. The road at the bottom of the picture is the new North Loop Road.

Here's a shot of the new North Entrance on the North Loop Road. The white apartment building in the distance is one of the new Uptown East apartments for Valpo students, and directly to the left of the picture is Scheele Hall.

I can't quite tell, are there torches?
Or is that only for the south entrance?

Also, here's an example of the new signage around campus. Again, it's about time we have some signage helping visitors around campus. This particular sign is visible when entering the Sturdy Road entrance.

Interesting how the new signage simply says "Valparaiso Union" rather then Harre Union. It doesn't say "Library".
I remember something about the Union being called just the Union for a reason. The Harre naming was at the insistence of a main donor or some such thing. What do you know about this?

Don't honorary naming of new buildings on campus have to be based on the approval of the person the building is being named for, or family if the person is deceased, and the board of directors? Maybe I'm just thinking that's the case, but I'm not totally informed about it.

The Harre naming was at the insistence of a main donor or some such thing. What do you know about this? I think it doesn't say "Library" because the Christopher Center also had a couple of classrooms and conference rooms in it, plus, with the cafe in there, it makes it a little more like a center, rather than just a library, like we know a library to be.
