It's frustrating to see several teams we've beaten up there above us. i think i agree. but i also wonder if there's not some kind of glass ceiling that we've started to crack, but haven't fully busted through just yet. i wonder if a lot of voters aren't simply waiting for us to come crashing back down to earth.

CSU takes over the top spot. Butler falls to 15. Valpo climbs to 18th (not bad! but they're making it awfully hard to pass Butler). Wright State, in a bit of a surprise, jumps up to #23.
(And also shows as RV, with five votes? This is not the world's most carefully edited poll, needless to say.)

Big question, why is Wright State in 2 places? 23rd and near the bottom with 5 votes??? Just wondering....

Butler is soooo overrated. Everybody knows #15 is wayy to high and ESPN still has them as a 12 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Let me get this straight...Valparaiso beat #1, #9, split with #15, and beat #23...plus beat three "others" and Valparaiso is ranked 18th?

Let me get this straight...Valparaiso beat #1, #9, split with #15, and beat #23...plus beat three "others" and Valparaiso is ranked 18th? We also lost to three teams not even receiving votes in this mid-major poll.

Accurate point, Valpofan. However, I'm sure a majority of these teams have some losses at the caliber of Green Bay and Ohio (probably not Toledo, though). If we beat Cleveland St., a pretty big leap should be expected.

Should be interesting to see what happens today, given that Cleveland State lost to Butler but beat Valpo, Butler lost to Y St. and beat Cleveland St, and we lost to Cleveland State but beat Y St. 17Fairfield also had a lost, 16Princeton had a good win over Harvard, and Butler was 15. 19UNI had a loss, 20Charleston had two wins, and 21Santa Clara split the week.
I have a feeling we stay in the same general area, and hopefully use two home wins to jump in the rankings (and more importantly, stay at the top of the HL).

This poll is pointless. Are you guys advertising to your fans that you're ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25?
Here's the problem. For one, it's inaccurate. WSU got two places here, and last season, we had one week where we were "receiving votes" as Milwaukee, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and UW-Milwaukee. If those votes were added together, we would have been #19 in that week's poll.
It's a joke.

This poll is pointless. Are you guys advertising to your fans that you're ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25? A poll's a poll. Something to debate between games. This one has enough prominence that the _Horizon League_ features it, in a couple of ways, in its weekly releases. It's fun to be mentioned. More fun than not to be! Really? Which week? I guess we've got it archived here somewhere... As I pointed out a week or two ago, it's not the most well edited poll in the world. But, what you suggest would be really awful! Would be fun to see it.

The results were already mentioned on another thread. But, here's the complete set. Cleveland State takes a big hit on losing to Butler. Butler and Wright State move up a couple of slots each, Valpo down a slot. Milwaukee acquires a few votes.
The 9-13 block this week is really striking to me. Two ivies, _then_ Gonzaga, then _Oakland_, _then_ Butler?
Missouri State, despite recent losses to Evansville and Northern Iowa, sits just a spot below Cleveland State.
If we beat Missouri State, run the table in the Horizon League, beat CSU, Butler, or both in the tournament, you think we make it into the top 10? Top 5?

Probably reported elsewhere, but I notice we're now getting _4_ votes in the ESPN coaches' poll. Ahead of Baylor, ahead of CSU.

Hmm.. Yeah, you wonder which is the mistake. Or how many mistakes were made.
I think we mentioned this isn't the world's most well-edited poll?

So, we beat #4 decisively. Even if it was at our place. That's got to get us some love, right? Up a couple of steps, minimum? Probably not top-10. Our RPI is back to the top 50, even edging out Butler - not that I think it will matter much for the poll.
Unfortunately, the teams in the ranks above us have been doing OK... Montana did lose. But we had that Milwaukee loss... Hm...
