Indeed. Which probably bodes well for it being on the streaming sites (channelsurfing, etc.) if past Oakland games have been there. We'll see. I guess if Whelliston's robots pull it down for pixelvision it might well include the Valpo game, while if it's some Oakland fan pushing it to channelsurfing, it may not. Not clear if the $6.95 package includes an archive.

To me as always it was the defense that won the IPFW game and despite all the good things we saw about the Valpo offense (patience and discipline being real keys) Valpo does not win this game without the excellent defensive play. It's interesting to see that Pomeroy's opinion of Valpo's offensive and defensive skills has almost flipped. (Well, Pomeroy's computer's.) He calculates how a team would do offensively and defensively against an average D1 team. 100 is the average D1 performance, so greater than 100 is good on offense, less than 100 is good on defense. We started the season like last year, with good offensive numbers, and poor defensive numbers. Now we're 100.9 on offense (better than the D1 average, but barely, at 151st), and a more impressive 97.6 on defense (good for 114th in D1; overall he has Valpo 129th). Looking across the Horizon League he has us 6th on offense, 4th on defense, 5th overall. Just a bit behind Wright State, not too far behind Loyola. It'll be interesting to see what this team looks like during conference play. It seems that they're still finding their style.

This is it, guys.
Beat 1-8 Eastern Michigan tonight and the H League will improve its season record against the MAC to 16-10 and clinch a series victory over the MAC for the fifth straight year.

Hey, speaking of pixelvision, could someone post a link? I'm not seeing it at the moment.

There are no pixelvision games on the midmajority website right now for the whole day. That's odd. Maybe there was finally some kind of copyright infringement or something.

We haven't quite put a nail in the coffin, but with about 10 minutes remaining in this game, Valpo has a 52-43 lead. Did start to fall off in the last minute or so, but we've been rather dominant for most of the game. The guys got out to a 12-point lead to open the game, but we've been struggling with Ryan keeping his fouls low. He's on the bench right now with 4 fouls. Eastern Michigan has only had one player really doing anything this game. That could be a bad sign for the rest of their season.

The guys pulled out the win, but they cannot seem to close out an easy victory. We had them by 10+ with 10 minutes to go, and we let them back in, then it happened again as the game came to a close. What is our fear about being dominating over a team that is clearly inferior to our abilities, and why the hell do we play down to their level? If we can pound away a victory early against a true D-1 program, than we should pound away. Don't play down to their level to be good sports, Homer. Beat them, and beat them handily! This is getting ridiculous, and scares me for the upcoming brunt of the conference season.

Phew! After that Toledo fiasco, I have the attitude of JUST FIND A WAY TO WIN. And they did, EMU just kept making threes...but we held on. Thank the good Lord!

What a sloppy, careless way to close out a game. Little misses 2 FT's. Rogers fouls a guy taking a desperation 3 from 25 from the basket with 7 seconds left. Then we can't get the ball in and get called for a 5 sec. count. Maybe we still haven't learned from the Toledo game about playing 40 minutes. At least 37 minutes is better than 27.

Some of the stuff we do is baffling. Counting the last 5 games a year ago, Michael Rogers is 1-16 from behind the arc, including none this year. So what does Homer do, let him take 4 3's and of course he misses all 4. Everyone else has obviously been told to stop taking so many 3's and instead work the ball inside. At the same time, Rogers becomes our designated long ball shooter. Oh I forgot, he is now 1-20 in his last 17 games, including ZERO for 11 this year. Why is the worst 3 pt. shooter on the team allowed to take more 3 pt. shots than anyone else on the team? I think that's a fair question.

You guys are great at criticism. We won and against a team that lost in Overtime to Detroit, not a D2 or D3 team. And oh by the way, this was much more of a home game for them than us. 5 of their 7 losses were on the road and then a 4 point loss at home to Drake and the OT loss to Detroit.
Yes we make some dumb mistakes but a win on the road or at a nuetral site is still a win. We screwed up a double digit win by goofing off on the last few plays but still won.
Oh and Mike Rogers has his issues but sure as hell played great against IPFW and must fill in when Rowdy gets in foul trouble or is ill as he was in toledo and against IPFW. This team has its roles fairly well designated. So lets see how well this under coached team does tomorrow.

This is the biggest bunch of BS I've read yet from you. Oh my gosh, you mean EMU went to overtime with Detroit! Well, jeez, I'm just glad they even let us step onto the court with them. Detroit is a decent team, but because of their lack of depth, they have had and will continue to have games where they play pretty awful. Eastern Michigan was one of those games. Valpo should have stomped this terribly inferior EMU team. There is absolutely no excuses for why they continue to do stupid things down the stretch. The lack of fundamentals is astonishing. If it continues to happen, Homer deserves to lose his job over it.
