Come on 56, Erik got the ball because he is the fatest player on our team and they were pressuring all over the court. And, by the way, our BEST FT shooter Ryan, missed a couple as well. Forget it ! WE WON!! I know, trust me I'm more than happy we won. In fact, I'm so jacked up right now, I probably won't even be able to sleep until midnight. But come on, that's a terrible reason to have Buggs in the game. His speed isn't going to get used when there is a guy on his back waiting to foul him as soon as he touches it.

I found the tv link with about 90 seconds to go and a secure 10 point lead - 101 -91 I think. WTH happened? How in the world can we not hit free throws down the stretch? I can understand Buggs missing (more to come on that), but Rowdy??? Can anyone explain why Buggs, with his FT% is in the game in a critical situation like this? Great win, but one must question the last couple of minutes. Sure wish I would have watched the entire game. Can anyone explain how this got to be a 200+ point game? Was it the pace, or lack of defense, or both? Lowposter

I would have had Harris in the game, no doubt. Homer probably wanted the ball handling of Buggs but I suppose he could have switched offense for defense, don't know.

Can anyone explain how this got to be a 200+ point game? Was it the pace, or lack of defense, or both? I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that the refs were calling every little touch foul. Then instead of having every player foul out of the game, they all just played really bad defense because they were afraid of getting a foul called.

We played a great game! Yeah, they scored a lot at the end, but those 3's were contested, desperation shots that happened to fall. Oakland is a very talented team. Give them their due. They've got excellent big people and very athletic guards. We just beat the Summit League's NCAA entry (at their place no less), not a doubt in my mind. Time to celebrate! By the way, our RPI just improved from 99 to 87. A big win for us and our conference.

The refs were calling everything possible. That really took the defense away from both teams. I'm glad we could pull this game out. I'm just tired of us getting content with a 10+ point lead because the moment we get that, we give up 5-10 points, and let the opponent get back into an uncomfortable position. I want us to finally put away a game that it looks like we can put away, regardless of how freakishly hot the opponent might get for a couple of possessions. I'll sip the koolaid, but I'm not ready to step on the bandwagon. I need to see us have a couple of dominant, blow 'em away performances before I really feel comfortable with what this team will do this season.

Hopefully Valpo can really blow out Ball State to start off next week. They are a decent enough team that Valpo should easily beat, yet be able to be proud of a good stomping.

The season is well underway. Did you like the way we beat IPFW? Or wasn't that enough of a "blowout" for you?? face it, college basketbll is fairly well balanced, we aren't going to see many mid-major "blowouts".

I'm sure he is referring to the only part of the season that truly matters, conference season and the post-season tournaments.

Buggs was in for two reasons, he's fast, so he can get the inbounds pass and get it back to Broekhoff quickly and two because Little had fouled out, so unless you go with Kenney, there really wasn't much choice.....sorry, I forgot about Harris, but he's a freshman, so I don't know if there's enough confidence in him at this point.

I don't care if its a mid-major, a low major, or a Big Ten school...I just want a couple of dominant performances. I haven't seen or heard of a couple of dominant performances put together yet. We're still scrapping around for consistency, even if we are 9-4. I'm just not one to jump on until I feel comfortable with the team doing what is needed to win on a regular basis. Yes, we had that about ten years ago, and I was comfortable with it, when we were back-and-forth in the NCAA tourney or NIT, but now that we're still working our way to what we should be in the HL, I'm not jumping on a bandwagon until I'm darn well ready, and right now, I'm not ready.

What about Harris? I know he's a freshman, but I'd like to think he could do better than Buggs from the line.
