As i understand it, Holman was suspended for the Butler game because of the "fight" he was in in the game before. NCAA rules that if the referee's describe it as a fight, you are ejected and suspended for the next game....there is some debate on the Detroit site if it was a fight or not, but that's the rule Not so much a fight, just a swift punch to a UIC player's midsection. Another way of saying it is he went "nuts."

So they didn't start Holman either?

I think as soon as Holman goes into the game we should put Witt into the game and he can act like a bull in a china shop against the Detroit center.

Kind of pissed at Frontier FIOS. Program guide has the Valpo game for Fox Sports Midwest but instead they are showing the Indiana State game. Was all set on the couch and then when the wrong game started I had to quickly fire up the computer. Cameron did not see the floor early but Kevin did.

Same in Indy. Listed Valpo at Detroit but showing Creighton at Indiana State. Pissing off the Butler fans too.

It's obvious that some Detroit frustration is starting to set in. The refs feel that have to delve out the punishment evenly but this is only good for Valpo with the way the Crusaders are playing. Maybe we all need to write (e-mail) our TV providers that we would rather have Valpo at Detroit instead of Creighton at Indiana State. Sometimes a few e-mails or letters go a long way.

Kenney makes this team SOOOO MUCH better! I really think the Butler game would have been MUCH closer if we would have had him available! He does all of the little things.

Buggs needs to stay on the floor and not make any stupid fouls. Two fouls already in the first 8 minutes. It appears that Detroit is going after Eric and Cory to try and get them in foul trouble. Cory was lucky that the one foul was called a charge against Detroit.

If Detroit doesn't start going in to Holman they will never get back into this game. Went to him out of the time out and he got the old fashion 3pt play, but we have done a good job on the double team the rest of the time.

This officiating crew blows. Brandon Wood gets hip checked and gets no call.

12-6 fouls in the first half. Valpo held Detroit to 1 assist. I love the defense and don't mind the fouls if they are due to aggressive defense rather than lazy defense. I like what I see!

This officiating crew blows. Brandon Wood gets hip checked and gets no call. Agreed. The "circus shot" that Brandon missed was a result of that hip check and no call. What are the refs thinking. As my wife would say " refs should be required to take physics to get their license".
