En route to Industrial Revolution for lunch at 1pm today, we saw a large coach departing the campus. The wife wondered where it was going "in this weather"...and I didnt put 2 and 2 together. BTW, the snow started at 1245, so hopefully they got ahead of it a bit. lowposter

Is the plan to get all the way or just far enough to make for a shorter drive when the snow passes?

Aaron Leavitt just confirmed on Twitter that the team has made it to Cleveland. He did not mention if the trip was easy or safe, just that the team "Made it to Cleveland".

Is the plan to get all the way or just far enough to make for a shorter drive when the snow passes? I think the plan was to stop in Toledo overnight and teepee the Rockets dorm. Get a little payback for the upset. It's killing this team's chances at an "at large" in the NCAA Tourney.

The fact that he reported the team made it to Cleveland means the weather had to be a little bit rough. Glad the team made it okay.

In articles involving Waters, as usual there are overstatements and misrepresentations.
Butler hasn't "dominated" the league for the last decade; only the last half of the decade.
Know this: when he says the key to the game is defense, he plans on having his players repeatedly hit you over the head with the sledgehammer they plant at midcourt before the game. If it's a loosely called game, Valpo will be in serious trouble.
If it's correctly called, there will be a cavalcade to the free-throw line.

Most coaches would like to bring the attention to the game close at hand - otherwise the players won't give the next game the attention needed. I agree with Waters that it will probably come down to defense. I think other important factors are our ball control, keeping CSU off the offensive glass, hitting our 3-pt shots, and most importantly - we need to hit the FT's. If we continue our conference FT %, we'll lose. If we hit 75% or more from the line, it should make the final few minutes interesting, especially if we hit a few 3's like Saturday! VU 70 CSU 67

They rank 17th nationally for fouls committed in conference. It's almost unbelievable that a team that is seldom in a position to have to foul at the end of games would average more than 10 fouls per half. I call it the thuggery approach - beat on your opponent all game, commit way more fouls than are actually called, constantly disrupt the flow of the game, and work the refs from beginning to end. Thank God we have Homer Drew instead of Gary Waters.

Well, during our first game with them at the ARC, we only attempted 14 FTs and made only 5! Now, I don't know how many front ends we missed but only 5 of 14 usually won't get a win. Some how we did win but I think it was with defense as they only scored 58 points.
As I recall, the second half didn't have nearly the amount of fouls as the first half. I think we caught them a little tired after Butler roughed them up. We sure aren't going to catch them tired this time. Should be a heck of a game and I thin we can win in a low scoring game, say, 62-60!
