I probably participated in my share when I was a student (I do remember the "Hey" cheer fill-ins). But now, considering bringing kids to the games, I'd prefer to keep it clean.

My little 6-year-old grandson is struggling a bit right now with issues at school and home. We thought some extra attention outside his normal world might help, so I have started bringing him to Crusader home games. He absolutely loves the experience. He wears his Crusader jersey to every game, he has learned all the player's names, and even has a favorite player - Cory. At the last game he got his picture taken with the Crusader mascot and talked to Ronald McDonald, which was a very big deal. He has called me 3 or 4 times over the past couple of days to remind me to pick him up tomorrow. I don't consider myself a prude by any means, but having a little person with us makes me grateful that we have a G-rated atmosphere at the ARC. When I was taking him home after the WSU game, he said, "We have a good team, don't we Grandpa?" That was a real feel-good hearing that from a little guy who normally doesn't show much emotion.

Given my recent experiences in the student section, I'd say that end of the ARC is PG at best depending on their enthusiasm and originality. Good amount of bull@#$% chants heard recently. Don't know where you'll sit, but further from the students is better, especially that kid in the orange shirt.

If I can't yell at refs' bad calls, then I will be forced to use one I've heard from a co-worker: " bull hockey". KY is so messed up...

If I can't yell at refs' bad calls, then I will be forced to use one I've heard from a co-worker: " bull hockey". KY is so messed up... the issue came up during last night's uconn-louisville game and resulted in a techinical for one of the cardinals players for supposedly encouraging it. i couldn't make it out when it actually happened, but when musberger came back with the explanation, he phrased it as 'bull manure.' i remember a point about 3 years ago when we in the student section were asked by homer not to use that chant anymore, because it could result in such a call against us. it's something that the "leaders" in green shirts ought to remember. maybe drewsader or govalpogo or another current student might be able to remind the students that excessive use of the bullcrap chant can get the team called for a tech.

Really enjoyable game to be at, killer result considering what was at stake. Super frustrating that a missed layup was the difference -- UWM got lucky, tough to swallow. To me, the weakest link on the floor for Valpo was clearly Kenney -- overwhelmed on defense, bringing nothing on offense, I think we win the game if he spends more time on the bench. UWM fans were terrible -- crass, unintelligent, tacky, obnoxious -- just generally odious and immature, made me kindof embarrassed to be a lifelong Milwaukeean.

A nice story, wh! Kudos for bringing your grandson along. I hope you and he are able to enjoy many more games together.
