I doubt they'd bring Shulman (who is, bar none, the best announcer ESPN has on multiple sports) since he's usually on the primetime game on ESPN. Today, Vitale is doing the Wisconsin/OSU game with Dave O'Brien on ESPN so O'Brien (who works MLB, college BB, and the Red Sox on radio) could be a possibility. Or Mike Patrick who's done plenty of games with Vitale. From the men's basketball update today on the Valpo athletics website, which looks at the Valpo match-up vs. Milwaukee, for those who were wondering who would be working the game along with Dick Vitale...I noticed under the Bracketbuster Matchup section that Dave O'Brien will be calling the game along with Dickie V. BracketBuster Matchup: The Crusaders learned late last month that they had earned another national TV appearance as part of the Sears BracketBusters event, as Valpo will host Missouri State live on ESPN2 at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19. This marks the second time the Crusaders have made a national TV appearance for the BracketBusters game, joining the 2007-2008 squad which hosted Miami (Ohio) on ESPN Classic. On the call of Saturday’s game will be Dave O’Brien (PBP) and Dick Vitale (color commentary). Something tells me I'm not gonna much like the play-by-play on this one. Can't say why, just something about Dave O'Brien says, "Big time announcer thinks he can waltz into a mid-major arena, shower the home team with off-the-cuff, speculative, superlatives, and charm everybody's socks off before returning to his comfort zone." On the other hand, something tells me he can be counted on to pronounce our name correctly. Don't ask me why. But I'll bet he will really struggle (and not realize it) with his knowledge of the HL (for all I know the same things can be said regarding his treatment and knowledge of Missouri State the MVC).

I don't suspect Dave O'Brien will be as bad as we think. I'm scared that Dick Vitale will ignore the fact it's two mid-majors, and he'll either talk about Detroit, or he'll have nothing to discuss, since he isn't working the Big Least or ACC Duke Division.

www.bbstate.com/games/98139Time for the team to put the Milwaukee loss behind them, and focus on gaining some momentum with this nationally televised game to carry through the final three conference games. Discuss.

It would be nice to win since it's on TV but in the grand scheme of things I am more interested in getting ready to close out the Horizon League and finalize the seeding. Goals for this game should be...don't get hurt and don't get blown out.

The final three conference games are most important. However, a nationally televised game against competitive opponent and league are an excellent time to showcase the VU basketball program. I'm sure everyone associated with the program is excited for Saturday.
VU - 74 Mizzou St - 67

VU - 74 Mizzou St - 67 i would refrain from calling it mizzou state in the future, fyi. msu has no relation to the mu system. just fyi. but i will echo your sentiment about being excited for the game. and hopefully we can pull it out.

I think we have lost momentum, so I see this as a tough game. MSU 79 VU 68

Just checked the seating chart, there are 107 seats still available. Could it be another sellout?? When was the last time there were 3 sellouts in one season? If we get to the title game, there will be another!!

Brandon Wood and Kyle Weems are both the leading scorers on their respective teams. Who will get the bragging rights in the BracketBusters matchup between Valparaiso and Missouri State? sports.espn.go.com/espn/dickvitale/index

Andy Glockner, SI.Com, has Vu/Mizzou State as the fifth most important game Saturday with Valpo coming out on top. 5. Missouri State (21-6, 13-3 MVC) at Valparaiso (17-7, 11-3 Horizon) Saturday, 5 p.m. ET, ESPN2 Why to watch: This is an enormous bubble game for the Bears and a classic negative-EV scenario. If they beat the Horizon leader on the road, they won't get nearly as much credit for it as they will have removed if they lose. Wins in their last three games, though, including the season finale vs. Wichita State, would give the Bears the Valley title, a sweep of the Shockers and solid positioning for an NCAA bid. Also to see if legendary coach Homer Drew is referred to as "Scott Drew's dad." Who to watch: Dynamic scoring guard Kyle Weems is the Bears' leading man and Will Creekmore has stepped up to provide the scoring punch Missouri State expected from the really struggling Adam Leonard. Brandon Wood and Cory Johnson lead Valpo in scoring, but the most intriguing Crusader is Aussie wing Ryan Broekhoff, who grabs five boards a game, has blocked 31 shots and shoots 49 percent from three. What to expect: Missouri State's mediocre defense scares me a bit on the road in this spot. Valpo's not a lethal offense, but the Crusaders score very effectively from inside the arc. Missouri State doesn't turn teams over very much, so Valpo's general carelessness with the ball may be less of an issue. KenPom likes Valpo by three and that sounds about right. Call for the mini-upset at home. Read more: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/andy_glockner/02/16/bracketbusters.preview/index.html#ixzz1EKJrtvq2

Dick Vitale just tweeted: Dick Vitale Oh Baby what fun it is going to be ! bit.ly/giiykw4 minutes ago from web My Dad's going to love the seat cushion (if we can get there soon enough). Are they going to do the shuttle bus thing again? ValpomarketingGuy? CrusaderClub? Anybody know? I can't wait to hear Dickie V. instructing viewers about his new-found credence. That's comedy for you ("The word you were looking for, Mr. Vitale, was "Creed". I'd settle for "credo", but "credence" is something others bestow upon you, not you upon yourself) Also, Mr. Vitale, if this game is a magical moment for the kids on the floor, can we expect you to focus on the game on the floor instead of rambling on about Duke and North Carolina? One time, baby. One time! P.S. Tell the mental midget Brent Musburger that Valpo is "Up there" not "Down there". Thank you very much.

Either Vitale is more of an idiot than I thought (is this possible?) or the article was poorly edited.

Nobody knows how to properly used adverbs these days. Nobody.
