There looked to be maybe 20 students in the student section.
My wife suggests "Sunday noon game". But, hey, early service at the Chapel (thanks Homer), brunch at Wehrenberg, hit the game!
(OK, OK - I probably wouldn't have been there when I was a student, either.)

Also one of the 20...again. I still don't know where the rest of the students are...though it's hard to get people on this campus to do anything on Sunday's (let alone attend chapel).
I'm concerned with the prospects of getting healthy...They are hiding something about Wood's injury. And now I'm hearing rumors of Jay being gone for the season. It's not gonna be an easy road!

Injuries aside, free throws and missed layups killed us. If we make the majority of either we win. Neither are something new. Both finally caught up with us. Let's hope Brandon is back along with Ryan being full strength and along with Kevin. Injuries definitely hurt today. I give the team credit for playing as hard as they did. The major deficiencies finally caught up with us.

Was at the game and thought it was a decent crowd considering the time. Thought thew guys played a very gutsy game. Little, Buggs and Kenney all had over 35 minutes of playing time, Cory had 31 minutes. The guys were gassed. With Wood and then harris out of the game and Ryan able to play at half speed GB went into a zone once they got the lead and we did not have the gunners to take that open outside shot. Give Ryan a big plus for his performance. FT shooting was better but still wasn't good enough. The defense was there, even with the tired legs. Valpo is deep in players but 2 out and 2 others at half speed were the difference. One game doesn't destroy the season. Lets get healthy and start a new streak. Go Vu .... Go Packers ........... I think this says it all (at least for me) - good summary of what happened, along with well earned praise for Ryan and an optimistic closing statement.

You may be small in number but you sound like a group 3 times your size.

Someone mentioned they thought the camera for the scoreboard clock had to be ordered from China...Is it then ironic that the Chinese president was in Chicago this week?

I understand that Brandon was given the choice of whether or not he would play today, and he chose to be sure of the recovery rather than risk it -- a good decision in my mind. I presume he'll be back for Butler. For those of you who like the refs to "let them play," this was a game for you. Several of the Phoenix were playing like thugs, and few fouls were called, especially in the first half. I couldn't believe when Turner got his first foul that he hadn't been called for anything prior to that.

Guess we can live with one home loss esp. if we get Brandon and Kevin back. Add my thanks to the 10 students in their section. Hate to beat this drum again but it does shock me that so few go to the games...especially when we are defending first place. Do the students care or know we're in first place? It's a little embarrassing for the country to see the apathy.

I actually counted the students in the student section about 5 minutes before the game, and it was exactly 20 (not counting the band). Later it might have gotten to 35 or 40. Disgraceful.......anyway, the difference in this game was Green Bay's 7'1 center Alec Brown. In the second half he scored 13 points, had 5 or 6 rebounds, and blocked at least 4 shots. We simply couldn't handle him inside and he's pretty good. Much better than I thought. It showed our lack of height. Cory kept taking it at him, as did Matt and Howard, and he kept sending it back. Disappointing loss, but I never thought we'd go unbeaten the rest of the way. Because of Milwaukee, next Saturday's game becomes much much bigger. We need to get Butler out of the equation and we can with a win. Kudos to Rowdy for playing hurt...he was a real warrior today.

I am proud of my boy but sad we lost Rowdy is one of my favorite players, Mum! He is full of talent and also has a lot of heart. And his long arms don't hurt.

It's a little embarrassing for the country to see the apathy. Even the choral group (guessing 15 students) that sang the National Anthem left. They stood down on the east for a few minutes after the game started and then walked out as a group. I've been coming to games for many years, and I've never seen such a big disconnect between the students and the team. You know it's bad when a WSU fan notices it on TV and mentions it.

My voice took a pounding for that, but it was worth it. Especially for the 4th grade basketball game at halftime

It's not gonna be an easy road! i hope those rumor's about jay's ankle aren't true... if so, that's really going to dampen the spirits. and thanks to you, and kl31 for contributing to the student section today. i went to as many games as i could, and i miss it. as do many of my friends that have moved on. there has to be some kind of answer to this attendance problem, besides national tv exposure. if only we could figure out what it is...
