I was proved wrong. Wish I could have watched it! So proud of my alma mater.

The Butler boys are about ready to slit their collective wrists. "The season is over, Mack stinks, play the freshman," blah, blah, blah. You would think they got blown out. They are just two games out and have as good a shot as anyone going into the tournament. Oh yeah, has anybody seen title? Just wondering about his current assessment of Valpo's players.

It's been 5 years since Butler's had a team this bad record wise, and probably 7 years since they've underperformed this badly, so forgive us for thinking this team isn't good.
It's not just a loss to a good Valpo team, it's the collection of losses to teams they should have beaten, poor play, especially from Mack, who was hyped up to be some kind of NBA talent and won't even be all-horizon this year.
It's okay though, can't be good forever, though I'll bet Collier is probably starting to wonder if Stevens will be Butler's Chris Lowery (SIU coach that got paid and has stunk ever since).

It was nice to see the upperclassmen playing as we would expect. Rogers hit a three, reminiscent of last year, and Matt Kenney seems to have his confidence back. Brandon appeared to be suffering form his hamstring in the first half, but it didn't look like it bothered him at all in the second. Let's hope he didn't aggaravate it. How many times has Van Wijk knocked away an entry pass this year? The team is clicking -- it was fun to see.

WHAT! A! GAME! i was lucky enough to be back this weekend, and was there-awesome! i went back and forth about participating in the court rush at the end, but i think it was justified. my freshman year: 70-67 marquette. sophomore year: painfully close loss to butler. junior year: painfully close loss to butler. last year: painful loss to butler. this year: we earned that win. maybe the best game since the miami bracketbuster 3 years ago now that went to double overtime that i've been to (have to add that since i was not at the cleveland state game this year).

A tremendous win for team, or fan, or program psychology. But, it didn't help our RPI much! That's what you get for winning at home. RPI 58 before the game, RPI 52 after the game. Butler unmoved at 42 (that's what you get for losing on the road).
At least it's another top 50 RPI win! And it'll move us up (and Butler down) the mid-major top 25.
These quantifiables don't nearly do it justice!

Sitting on our hands with 23.6 left?! We were so tired! Give us a break about charging the court...that's the most excitement we've had since the freshman year Butler game. What a huge win for us...I know they are now fourth...but they are frickin Butler!

Another "record" crowd of 5,432?

I wouldn't count on Butler being a top 50 RPI win for much longer.

What a huge win for us...I know they are now fourth...but they are frickin Butler! Just got home. What a game! My ears are still ringing - and I'm not kidding. The atmosphere was electric! The student section was as good as I've ever seen it! Make no apologies for storming the court. It was awesome to watch and I know the players appreciated it. As far as the game, it seems like most of the good stuff has already been mentioned, so I'll just say I'm really proud of our guys!

However, I still puzzle as to why so few students come out of their hole once per year (or twice if Purdue is at VU) and and go back in for the season, I think that is pretty unwise of them. They will put Valparaiso on their resume for a lifetime. I wonder how many of the students that rushed the floor, after the game, were attending their first game? On the other side of the coin, it's safe to say that few have been to all of the home games. SAD!

We'll see if this win will inspire some confidence in attendance. In my four years at Valpo (2006-2010), I saw only heartbreak after heartbreak, but now students have seen a great win in front of a huge crowd.

What a great game to watch for almost any college basketball fan, I suppose except Butler fans today. I thought Matt Kenney's play was phenomenal today, a great all around game that was much needed due to all the injuries. Cory, BWood, Ryan, Howard, Jay.....and I don't want to slight anyone on the team...everyone stepped up and just refused to lose. I would like to think that perhaps some folks who saw their first Valpo game in awhile will come back for another game or two after today!

I'm not counting Butler out, but things are finally looking good for someone other than them to win this thing for a change. It should be quite a battle between us, CSU and WSU down the stretch. By the way, I don't feel bad one bit for the vast majority of arrogant Butler fans that have done nothing but trash the Horizon League and every other team in it since we've joined the league.
