As an old timer I always looked at Valpo/Butler as being in the same rivalry class as; Amherst/Williams.Lafayette/Lehigh/Wabash/DePauw and others. Feels good. Go Valpo!

I wouldn't count on Butler being a top 50 RPI win for much longer. doesn't it still count as a top 50 win since they were in the top 50 when we beat them?

Court rush? Really? This is the fourth CONFERENCE loss for Butler. Let me lead this with I am very, very happy with this win today. ...now on to my glass half empty perspective. Seriously, storming the court??? I am with you there. Valpo was ahead of them in the CONFERENCE standings and was playing Butler at HOME. Really? Storming the court against an unranked opponent is uncalled for. No wonder they struggle against "name" teams if beating a good Horizon League team at home invokes storming the court. Act like you've been there before.

Had some bounces roll your way in OT, but Valpo deserved to win this game. I have a feeling you'll win every one at least this season and next against this group of Butler players. Absolutely Valpo deserved to win this game. Butlers defense on Broekoff alone showed that. What on earth was Butler doing? If you go watch the game again, I think every one of Ryan's three's were just spot up jumpers with nobody in his face at all. He's WAY too good a shooter to allow him to stand there unguarded and shoot.

He said that had worked on stopping him and talked about keeping him from being open and that there was no reason he should have been that open. All I can say to that is.......OOOPS !!!!!

milan, I think you're seeing what some additional quickness and dribble drive and post play can do for your 3 shooters. Butler had some of that in the first half when they were like 6 of 13 from 3. Inside- out was working for them and Hahn was also getting some in the 2d half. All of Howard's made 3s in the game were open looks because his man was doubling or helping low. The one Cory had taken the driving guard who kicked back to Howard. Our motion is causing teams fits, and when we get a lead and slow down that motion we start to have issues late in games. I think you have to continue moving and cutting and taking the best shot in the offense from 15-8 seconds in the shot clock rather than starting a set at 12-8 secs.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of Little nailing that three in OT.

Let me expand on what I am talking about with Broekhoff. I know that others penetrating got Ryan his shots, but two things here...you shouldn't help off him in those situations, and if you absolutely must help, somebody must switch to him and rotate. Yes, that can create mismatches, but which is better in light of what we saw?

Just an FYI
Andy Katz of ESPN picked Valpo to beat Cleveland State and win the conference. Then he said it should be an interesting Horizon League tournament with Valpo, CSU and Butler.
