i lol'd especially hard at the comment about the arc as compared to their facility. the building's not everything - oh well. they'll get over it and forget this game soon enough if they finish their season well and show up to play in stl at the mo valley tourney.

With an RPI of 52, a slight improvement will get them in the top 50 and give us another quality win.

I enjoyed the comments on the Missouri newspaper's web site. one of the last comments was "they acted like they didn't want to be there." That was right on the money. I said that at halftime, and even mentioned it to one of their assistant coaches. they just looked totally disinterested. Creekmore led the charge in the "I can't believe we're here and getting our asses handed to us" group of Bears. Mallett I thought was the only one who came to play. Good for VU, bad news for the Bears.

Does anyone know what Vegas had the line at??? We ended winning by 13 even though the game was much further out of reach than that.... The line I see had us as two point favorites. Against Green Bay I see an early line with us as one point favorites. Big game!!!

Good for VU, bad news for the Bears. Some may think MSU didn't "come to play" (a commonly used, face-saving excuse), but I see what happened yesterday a little differently. For all anyone knows, someone gave them a Knute Rockne speech in the locker room before the game started. They may have come out thinking they were going to kick ass and take names on national TV. Then the game started and reality sank in. From the beginning on, we broke them down, exploited their weaknesses, robbed them of their confidence, and ultimately rode them like a broken horse. So while I agree they looked disinterested at some point, it was only after they were saddled, bridled and led by the reins by the better team.

A benefactor donated $30 million to build MSU's 10,000 plus seat arena. In A order to purchase reserved season tickets, one must pay a fee between $50 and $5000 each. Their ticket prices are way higher than VU's. BTW, their enrollment is just under 21,000.

I listened to Todd call the game and then rewatched the game on ESPN3 with Dick Vitale calling. Dick definitely had someone do some research and made some intelligent comments about the team but as usual uses the venue to tout his own "interests". Nobody calls VU basketball better than Todd. When he calls the away games I can almost see the play in my mind

to Valpo89's reply to the comment that MSU "didn't come to play" was right on. Categorically MSU needed to win this game and they knew. They were completely overwhelmed by the aggressive play on the boards and the push after the rebound. VU just executed very well. Also having 9 players score was significant. VU must take this momentum and win out

He overplayed how much he loved that.

BTW, the Dickie V joke about Digger not being able to find VU or Purdue is an old "dig" about the fact that after 1988's win against ND at the ARC, Digger would never play VU at the ARC again. Also, I don't ever remember ND heading to WLafayette either. Not much different from today's ND, which would rather fatten up on cupcakes at home than toughen up on a few good RPI games on the road before the BigLeast season begins. The only "home" Valpo-ND game in recent memory was at the United Center and that ended up a one possession game.
And for us old AMCU-8ers, beating SWMS like we did yesterday felt really good. Now crushing UWGB at their place Monday night would feel even better.

Is the "u" in "Cuonzo" really silent, as Dave O'Brien pronounced it?
